We’re thrilled to be setting up your fibre broadband, here’s a rundown of what you can expect during the installation process.
Step 1: Getting it Ready
There are two ways we bring the fibre cable to your property depending on your area:
- Overhead from a telegraph pole (A).
- Through existing underground ducts (B).
We’ll get this ready before hand so it’s ready for your install day, and you don’t need to be in.
Step 2: Installing Your Router
Your Quickline engineer will say hello and familiarise themselves with your property. We’ll chat with you to agree on the ideal point for the cable to enter your home. When ready, it’ll be carefully threaded through a cleanly drilled 10mm hole for a tidy finish.
We’ll then install an internal box called an ONU and you router. Our engineer may need to finish some external work here too, so sit tight.
Step 3: Bringing Your Connection to Life
Our engineer then finishes up by setting up the router, tidying up all cables, and conducting some quick tests to ensure your service is working perfectly.
During this time they will be happy to answer any questions you might have to ensure you’re good to go. They can even set up one device (such as a smartphone, tablet, or laptop) for you to make sure you know how.
With full our Full Fibre Network we ensure you get the fastest speeds possible by getting rid of copper wiring all together.
