Yes Absolutely! You can use your own mesh Wi-Fi system with our broadband service, although this is something less technical people may struggle with.

Recommended setup mode: #
For the best performance, we recommend setting your mesh system up in “Access Point (AP) mode”, connected by Ethernet cable into our router, which will continue to manage your internet connection.
Step-by-step setup #
- Plug your mesh system into our router
- Connect your main mesh node to any LAN (Ethernet) port on the back of our router
- Then check the mesh system’s setup instructions for which port to use on the mesh node.
- Turn off Wi-Fi on our router
- It is important that you switch off Wi-Fi on your router. This prevents wireless interference between the router and your mesh system.
- To do this we recommend pushing the “WLAN” (Sometimes called “Wi-Fi On/Off”) button on the router ONCE.
- You should then see the 2.4G and 5G (Wi-Fi) lights are switched off on the front of the Quickline router.
- Setup your mesh system to “Access Point” mode
- During setup, choose Access Point mode (sometimes called Bridge or Extender mode)
- Do not use Router mode, as this will conflict with our router
- Continue to follow the instructions to add any remaining Mesh Wi-Fi nodes.
Why Access Point mode? #
By setting up your system in Access Point mode rather than as a router, you allow our router to handle things like:
- Internet access
- IP addresses (DHCP)
This ensures your service stays connected to our network and we can remotely assist you if needed.
If your mesh system is also set to Router mode, both devices will try to do the same job, which can cause connection issues and make your experience worse instead of better.
Need help? #
The exact steps to enable Access Point mode vary by mesh brand, so we recommend checking the manufacturer’s setup guide.
If you need further assistance with your setup details, or tips on using our router, our support team is happy to help.
Do Quickline have a Mesh Wi-Fi solution? #
We sure do! We offer a “Wi-Fi Everywhere” service, where we guarantee Wi-Fi in all rooms of your Home.
Many customers prefer this as our Wi-Fi everywhere service includes a professional installation by one of our trained engineers, as well as ongoing support for any issues you have. We can also remotely support your router and your Mesh nodes too, making any issues much easier to identify and fix.
