Community Stories: Zero Waste Leeds Winter Coat Appeal

As part of the Zero Waste Leeds initiative, Quickline staff got involved by donating their old winter coats and jackets for this wonderful cause.

The Quickline team donated 30 items, including coats for children and babies, to support the appeal from Zero Waste Leeds. The coats will go to underprivileged families to help support them with financial difficulties.

Connor, one of our Social Values Executives, created a digital poster which was published on Quickline’s online communication channel for employees. Awareness quickly spread and donations started coming in immediately. Regular updated posts with pictures ensured everyone was reminded and had time to dig out their old coats and bring them into the office for the collection.

This initiative benefits those who receive the items, meaning they don’t have to find the money to buy new coats when money is sparce.

Furthermore, it benefits the environment, with each item, previously unused by its original owner, getting a new lease of life with those who truly need them.
