The donation was awarded following a successful application to Quickline’s Community Fund which aims to help community groups, projects and events in need of support.
The funding has enabled the community to invest in the toilet facilities at the village hall and purchase a new, weatherproof notice board to keep local people updated on all the events and activities taking place there.
Ian Pringle, one of the village hall trustees, said: “We’re extremely happy with the kind donation from Quickline, it really is greatly appreciated.”
The official cheque presentation took place at the opening of the Burton-upon-Stather Christmas Fair which was attended by members of our community team as they travel round Yorkshire and Lincolnshire celebrating the ‘Season of Giving’.
