Quickline to bring full fibre broadband to over 55,000 rural homes and businesses in 2023

We’ve announced our 2023 fibre rollout plan, with a target to transform internet access and speeds for scores of communities and tens of thousands of users.

Our fibre rollout will see us bring game-changing broadband speeds of up to 1 Gbps to more than 55,000 homes and businesses this year.

After a strong 2022, during which more than 10,000 homes and businesses in over 20 communities received access to our full fibre broadband, we remain committed to tackling rural internet inequality in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

Spanning areas from the North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Dales, to the scenic Lincolnshire Wolds, our fibre rollout plan covers some of the hardest communities to reach which have, until now, been neglected by major broadband providers.

We’ve already passed 300,000 premises with our existing next- generation fixed wireless broadband network, and are rapidly blending that with full fibre to create the UK’s only gigabit hybrid network.
Lee Allison, our Chief Operating Officer, said: “Building on the momentum from last year, 2023 is going to be even bigger and better for Quickline and the communities we serve.

“Rural communities have been crying out for fast, reliable broadband for far too long. Our mission is to provide that and to close the digital divide between urban and rural areas.

“If your community is on our 2023 rollout plan, it means full fibre broadband is on its way to you soon. Keep an eye out for our engineers, who will be out and about connecting homes and businesses, and register your interest on our website to be notified when fibre broadband is available to you.”

Included in our rollout for the first quarter of the year is Heckington in Lincolnshire, near Sleaford. With its medieval church and working windmill, Heckington is also home to the largest annual village show in the country.

Residents and businesses in Heckington will soon have access to fibre broadband with speeds of up to 1 Gbps. Also included in our rollout is the historic North Yorkshire coastal village of Ravenscar, with its stunning views along the Yorkshire coastline and dramatic clifftop setting.

Many of the rural communities in our rollout plan have previously suffered with broadband speeds as low as 30 Mbps. Our Full fibre packages start at 100 Mbps, with speeds of up to 1 Gbps also available.
Chris Akrill, our Head of Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) Operations, said: “Our fibre broadband is transforming the internet experience for customers living in even the most remote of areas.

“Customers are constantly telling us how much our broadband has improved their quality of life – from work and education to streaming their favourite TV shows and video calling family and friends.
“Having good broadband is no longer a luxury – it’s essential in so many ways. We understand that and that’s why we’re bringing fibre to even the most difficult of areas to connect.”
