Volunteers’ week ran from Monday 3rd June to Friday 7th June, the activities comprised two beach cleans in Hornsea, tree planting at the PATT foundation and serving up meals at Spring café in Hunmanby.
The approach
Our aim for this week was to engage as many Quickline colleagues as possible in volunteering, organising activities to offer variety for members of the team to choose from. Quickline colleagues then gave up a working day to help volunteer and give back to the communities they serve.
The impact
All the activities; beach cleans, tree planting and serving had different impacts. For the beach cleans we collected over 20kg of waste from the beach. At the PATT foundation we planted over 800 tree seeds and helped assemble the wellness area. At the Spring café, we served over 50 lunches to the elderly residents of Hunmanby.
Joy Ossai, Spring café, Hunmanby, said: “You folks have made such a difference to our last few weeks. We enjoyed every minute and hope you all did as well.”
