Quickline is shining a spotlight on our apprentices during National Apprentice Week, celebrating the next generation of talent helping to transform rural connectivity.
Now fully qualified in fibre installation, they’re playing a hands-on role in delivering Quickline’s ambitious rural rollout.
The company has also expanded its apprenticeship programme beyond engineering, welcoming an additional four apprentices into office-based roles across IT Support, Finance, and HR.
Meet the Apprentices
Apprentice engineer Mohammed Ameen said: “I’m loving it. I’m in different areas every day, learning something new all the time. I can now do full installations while shadowing my senior engineer.”
Fellow apprentice Mathew Beal added: “It’s great to be out and about, doing the work. The classroom part was fine, but I really enjoy being hands-on.”
In HR, Aimee Jackson, who started her apprenticeship in November, said: “I love the variety of my role. There’s always something new to get involved in, and I’m building my confidence every day.”
Meanwhile, Alex Gridgeman, who joined in October, has already made a huge impact—winning a company-wide award for his outstanding support for colleagues. He said: “I get on well with everyone here, and I love the range of challenges I tackle each day.”
Investing in Future Talent
Wendy Hiley, HR and Talent Acquisition Business Partner at Quickline, said: “We’re thrilled with how well our apprentices have settled in. They’re making a real impact across the business, and we’re proud to be investing in their future.”
With its apprenticeship programme growing, Quickline is committed to developing skills, creating opportunities, and building a workforce ready to connect rural communities to next-generation broadband.
