Supporting local community groups and schools

Quickline are on a mission to connect rural areas to a world of opportunities online, but we’re also committed to making a real difference to the communities we serve.

We are more than just a broadband provider and our social value programme demonstrates our commitment to doing good. We’ve outlined our key social value initiatives below.

Improving Digital Literacy

We have a Digital Skills Workshop suitable for primary, secondary and post-16 groups. The workshop covers topics like staying safe online and how to spot fake news. We visit schools and community groups to deliver this, but can also provide the resources for in-house delivery.

Career Insights Platform

Our career insights platform provides engaging content from several Quickline departments, providing insights into the different careers you could expect to find within the telecoms industry. Ideal for young people and job seekers, this content makes for a great alternative to in-person work experience.

Community Frequently Asked Questions

We cover a large area across North Yorkshire, East Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Although our connectivity is focused on the more rural areas, our social value activities are also available to more populated areas where the need for initiatives like our digital skills programme and STEM workshops is high.

We have different social value initiatives depending on location. In North Yorkshire, we have a focus on the environment and improving climate change awareness. In West Yorkshire, East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire we work with a lot of schools and colleges to improve digital literacy and broaden young people’s horizons with STEM workshops. In South Yorkshire, we are committed to supporting small business regeneration and growth.

If you would like to hear more about what’s available in your area, please contact us.

We are able to offer in-person work experience of up to one week at our main office in Willerby. This usually takes place in July and is more of a career insights week, than on-the-job experience. This provides valuable insights for students who could benefit from a relaxed approach, where they’ll meet different professionals and get a glimpse into the world of work and office life.

Departments such as marketing, social value and IT are able to support. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer work experience within the engineering department to anyone under the age of 18.

We welcome contact from college or university students who are looking for more substantial placements to support their studies. Please contact careers to see what’s possible.

We are unable to provide funding for community events or sports teams. We have committed to work with community foundations across the areas we serve, to provide significant funding in the form of community grants and educational bursaries.
