Quickline has marked Volunteers’ Week 2026 by swapping broadband cables for pruning tools in a South Yorkshire woodland.
At Quickline, we know volunteering matters to people and communities, which is why every colleague gets two paid volunteer days each year.
Over the past year, colleagues have used that time to support a range of causes, and during Volunteers’ Week we have partnered with the Woodland Trust at two events – one in South Yorkshire and another at Nidd Gorge in North Yorkshire, where we are helping tackle ash dieback.
Our partnership with the Woodland Trust is part of our Project Gigabit contract and our social value commitment.

The work includes supporting woodland recovery, removing diseased ash and replanting resilient species at sites including Nidd Gorge.
It reflects our belief that connecting rural communities should go hand in hand with supporting the places those communities call home.
During Volunteers’ Week, members of our Social Value team joined the Woodland Trust at Bagger Wood near Thurgoland, Sheffield, to put that commitment into action.
The site is close to one of our build areas, making it a fitting place to give something back.
The team helped with tree thinning to support healthier woodland growth.
Elisabeth Kamaris, Social Values Executive at Quickline, said: “It was a brilliant day – hard work, but incredibly rewarding.
“Getting out into the countryside we’re helping to connect reminded us why we do what we do. These communities and these landscapes deserve investment and care, and volunteering with the Woodland Trust felt like a really meaningful way to bring our partnership to life whilst celebrating Volunteer week.”
Volunteering is part of a wider programme of community activity at Quickline, alongside digital skills workshops and partnerships that support people and places across our region.
Whether it is improving digital confidence or supporting local green spaces, the aim is the same – showing up for the communities we serve. You can follow Quickline on LinkedIn for the latest updates and news.
