Homes and businesses in the villages of Patrington, Tickton and Broomfleet can now experience gigabit-speed broadband connectivity, as broadband rolls out to more rural communities, bringing fast streaming, smoother working from home and stronger links to family, friends and customers.
More than 1,300 addresses across the three communities have been reached in the rollout including more than 500 coming through the Project Gigabit contracts awarded to Quickline by the government last year.
Project Gigabit is a government initiative designed to enable hard-to-reach communities to access lightning-fast gigabit-capable broadband. It targets homes and businesses that are not included in any commercial plans of broadband suppliers, reaching parts of the UK that might otherwise miss out on upgrades to next-generation speeds.
Broomfleet is situated on the north side of the Humber estuary to the west of Brough, Tickton is two miles east of Beverley whilst Patrington is nestled in the west of the East Riding of Yorkshire in an area known as Holderness.
Julian Chalk, Head of Network Engagement and Enablement at Quickline, said: “Reliable broadband is essential for everyday life, and we’re committed to helping our customers thrive in the digital age. These communities are small and remote, which is exactly why they’ve previously missed out on full fibre connectivity. We’re proud to be delivering Project Gigabit to change that.”
As Quickline rolls out full fibre broadband, homes and businesses can book their installation now to experience improved connectivity and start benefiting from lightning-fast broadband.
