Quickline’s fast and reliable full fibre broadband is now live in Gilberdyke, bringing high-speed connectivity to another rural East Yorkshire community.
The remaining properties in the village – around 10% of the community – are set to go live in the coming weeks.
The rollout into Gilberdyke is part of Project Gigabit – the UK Government-funded programme to enable hard-to-reach communities to access lightning-fast gigabit-capable broadband. It targets homes and businesses that are not included in any commercial plans of broadband suppliers, reaching parts of the UK that might otherwise miss out on upgrades to next-generation speeds.
Gilberdyke forms part of a major government contract awarded to Quickline last summer, covering the East Riding of Yorkshire and a significant portion of Lincolnshire, including communities across North and North East Lincolnshire.
Julian Chalk, Head of Network Engagement and Enablement at Quickline, said: “We’re proud to be delivering gigabit capable broadband to rural communities across East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
“Gilberdyke is close to home for many of our own colleagues, so we know first-hand the challenges poor connectivity has posed to residents and businesses.
“Our full fibre network is now delivering fast, reliable, gigabit-capable broadband that these communities need in order to thrive in the digital age.”
Residents and business owners in Gilberdyke can now book their installation and experience the power of high-speed broadband, backed by Quickline’s commitment to rural connectivity.
