Online with Quickline Case Study Header

In a household where work, school, and play all depend on a strong internet connection, having reliable broadband is not a luxury, it’s a necessity. With everyone online at once, the Hassell family old broadband provider just couldn’t keep up. That all changed when they switched, now online with Quickline they have no interruptions, no complaints, just a connection that works as hard as they do.

Tell us about your community and what you love about it.

Riccall is a small village, located between York and Selby. It is an incredibly friendly place with a great mix of older and younger families. There is a great community spirit. We have many generations of families who have lived here for years and once people move to Riccall, it is rare for them to move out again! We love it here due to the friendly faces we see and the welcoming, helpful nature of all our neighbours.

What do you use the internet for?

First and foremost, I work from home regularly, so I am constantly connecting remotely to colleagues working throughout the country. I am a self-confessed geek who loves gadgets and technology. We have multiple games consoles, and all our TV is done through streaming services such as Sky Stream, Netflix, Disney+. My kids love playing Fortnite and game online with their friends. Our house is controlled heavily by Alexa and as such can be controlled remotely.

How important to you is a fast and reliable home broadband connection?

As I work from home, it is incredibly important that I have a reliable broadband connection with speeds that enable me to have quality video conferences. I need to be able to work whilst my kids are either playing online games or streaming when they get home from school. Without a reliable connection, this would make home life incredibly difficult.

How would you describe your previous broadband provider?

They were reliable but did not offer the speeds I was looking for.

Why did you choose to get online with Quickline?

I was looking for a provider that was able to offer matched speeds for uploads and downloads which none of the major providers could provide. Major providers could offer good download speeds but very poor upload speeds which we need for online gaming and remote working. The price offered by Quickline is far more competitive than any of the major providers.

Tell us about the service you received from Quickline?

When I knew I was moving house, I rang and spoke to the customer service who were fantastic, fully informing me of the process and what would happen. The service at my old house was working right up until the service in my new house was connected. The gentleman who connected us to the telegraph pole made sure I was happy with where the cable was going and gave advice on the best placement of the outside box. When the engineer came to the new house to connect everything up, he was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. He discussed with me the potential routing options for the cable into the main house and where he thought it should go. The connection wasn’t straightforward, but he managed to get it sorted with minimal disruption. He made sure I was happy with everything before he left.

How has getting online with Quickline changed your broadband experience?

We can now hold multiple remote meetings whilst the kids are online gaming or streaming, knowing that we will have a seamless experience.

Would you recommend Quickline to friends and family?

Yes, and I already have done. My mum has now signed up and I have also recommended Quickline to the new owners of our old house.
