Fast and reliable broadband available at Belton

Fast and reliable broadband available at Belton Park Pavilion, a volunteer-run facility that serves the community of Belton in North Lincolnshire. The venue struggled for years with unreliable internet access, limiting their ability to offer a full range of modern services and events for local people.

But today, the pavilion boasts a fast and reliable broadband connection, having been gifted full fibre connectivity by Quickline, turning it into a ‘QHub’ – a community venue, connected to Quickline’s broadband for free, for use by everybody living in the community.

A reliable internet access can make a meaningful difference in rural communities, enabling local organisations to modernise their options and better serve their community. Read more about the story of Belton Park Pavilion:

Anthony Temperton, Chairman at Belton Park Pavilion, explained: “Belton Park Pavilion has been around as a registered charity since 1973. We’re self-funded and we’re all volunteers, it’s important to us to be able to be a central hub for the community.

“Belton is a village. It’s in the country. You don’t expect good connectivity. And prior to Quickline, there has been no connectivity in the pavilion at all.

“We used to have quite a standard bar, but we could do cash only because you couldn’t get a good enough signal to have a card machine. And we just didn’t have a stable connection. So, to us, it wasn’t just the speed. It was more the case of it being on, being reliable and being a platform for the things we wanted to do at the pavilion.

“So, from our point of view, having a stable connection has meant we’ve been able to invest in a new bar facility. That’s now given us a proper ePOS system and for the first time ever we’re now able to take cards. It opens us up to more revenue which we can then reinvest back in the facility for the village.”

John Hayes, Belton Park Pavilion Committee Member added: “It’s an extra facility we can use that, in this modern day and age, you need. Everybody says, ‘Oh can I get on the internet?’ and they can now, thanks to Quickline.”

Anthony Temperton further explained: “Quickline have been fantastic. They put the broadband connection in here which wasn’t an easy install for them, but they didn’t back away from doing it. They were keen to provide a service for the community.

“I think you know with a lot of broadband companies who do a roll out in a certain area, they’re quite faceless. Whereas with Quickline, they’re proud to be part of the community and that’s why we’re happy to be involved with them.”
