A group of North Lincolnshire students enjoyed the Quickline Tech Day hands-on learning experience at our Hull training centre, led by a team of Quickline engineers.
Designed to offer real life experience with the technology and equipment that power modern broadband networks, the young people got a unique insight into the world behind the internet connectivity used every day.
During the visit, our engineers showcased a range of tools and technology used to deliver fast and reliable broadband. From fibre optic cables to seeing a MEWP (Moving Elevated Work Platform) vehicle in action, the students saw first-hand how complex networks are managed and maintained. The live demonstrations brought the subject to life, turning technical concepts into exciting, real-world applications.
The Quickline Tech Day interactive session saw pupils actively participating and asking thoughtful questions and our engineers were impressed by their curiosity and enthusiasm.
Finlay Douglas, Senior FTTP Engineer said: “It was a great session, and all the students were really engaged, making the experience rewarding both for them and for us. We showcased a wide range of topics, from the basics of how broadband works to discussions about future innovations in connectivity.”
Connor Moore, Social Value Executive for Quickline added: “The day was a resounding success – a perfect blend of education, inspiration and fun.
“Beyond technology, the visit highlighted the importance of teamwork, problem-solving, and innovation in the telecommunications industry.
“We hope the experience sparked an interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) careers among the students, encouraging them to consider the many opportunities available in this dynamic industry.”
At Quickline, we’re passionate about working with the next generation of thinkers, engineers, and leaders to share our knowledge of broadband technology and innovation and we’re looking forward to welcoming more schools and continuing to support STEM education through hands-on learning experiences, like the Quickline Tech Day.
