We’re celebrating the success of our apprentice scheme this month after two of our rising stars were successfully recruited into full-time roles.

The pair completed extensive training and worked in a hands-on role for the past six months under the guidance of senior engineers, to support in the delivery of the rollout of fast and reliable broadband to rural communities across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

The opportunity to move into qualified engineer positions opened earlier this year, with all apprentices given the chance to apply and demonstrate how far they have come.

Stuart Farmer, Learning and Development Manager at Quickline, said: “Our apprenticeship scheme is a cornerstone of our talent development strategy, offering a blend of practical learning and mentorship. This investment in apprentices not only equips individuals with essential skills but also ensures we have a pipeline of dedicated and knowledgeable professionals who understand our business from the ground up.

He added: “Mohammed and Tristan are the first examples of our apprentice pipeline working, and we expect to see many more come through this process.”

Both former apprentices stood out for their hard work, dedication to learning and their passion for the industry since joining the business last year.

Speaking about his progression onto a fully-fledged engineer, Mohammed said: “I am so proud to have joined the Quickline team permanently now and cannot wait to get stuck into more jobs, learn more off my peers and have a long future in bringing broadband to rural areas”.

Tristan added: “I’m really looking forward to my future with the company. My time here has been great so far, and I know I have still so much to learn and experience with Quickline. I am excited for what’s ahead.”

Quickline is committed to developing skills, creating opportunities and building a workforce ready to connect rural communities to next-generation broadband.
