We’ve been lending a helping hand and cleaning up the coastline in the coastal community in North Yorkshire this summer.
As part of our commitment to improving the environment, our team headed to Scarborough’s North Bay and spent the day clearing rubbish from the popular beach.
The team worked their way along the shoreline, collecting litter as they walked and chatting to beachgoers about the environment and the importance of taking litter home with them.
Installation engineer, Nathan Mutasa, was one of the volunteers supporting the mission. He said: “I took part in the volunteering day to do my bit and contribute to our commitment to make a positive impact on the local environment. Being involved in the beach clean exceeded my expectations – not just in the amount of litter we collected, but in the enthusiasm and interest that other people showed.”
Connor Moore, one of the social value team at Quickline and beach clean organiser, said: “We’re committed to making a positive difference in the areas we serve – and that means delivering more than just broadband connectivity. Supporting local communities and safeguarding the environment is central to our social value mission and the beach clean is just one example of how we can dedicate our time to give back and make an impact.”
Every Quickline colleague receives two volunteer days each year to use in a way that matters to them, with events like the Scarborough beach clean organised to make it easy for teams to come together and give back.
