Celebrating a year of engagement through educational activities

We’re celebrating making a positive impact on thousands of children and young people through our educational initiatives over the past year.

Since launching our social values programme, “QFutures” last year, we’ve now engaged with nearly 3,500 pupils aged 5 to 16, across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

The programme, which focuses on three key pillars; Educate People, Enrich Livelihoods and Enhance Environments, is delivered by our dedicated in-house team.

With the aim of cultivating the future digital workforce by aligning industry, primary schools, communities, parents, and higher education, we’ve undertaken a diverse range of activities and events.

Highlights include:

  • 18 events in 10 primary schools: Early career path and skill set development, including delivery of the Engaging Education Digital Skills initiative.
  • Events at five secondary schools: Featuring STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and maths) Maker activities, careers fairs and work experience placements.
  • Collaborations with nine further education establishments: Educating 2,100 students on digital skills and literacy.
  • Participation in three careers fairs: Providing career mentoring, mock interviews, CV advice and guidance to 290 young people.
  • Hosting the Brownlee Brothers: Inspiring children at a primary school near York to live healthier, more active lifestyles.

Additionally, we joined in the Girl Tech Gadget Show event and recently partnered with The Prince’s Trust to support employability schemes for young people.

Social Values Manager at Quickline Julie Holmes said: “We have made a significant impact in schools and educational facilities across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire with a wide range of activities, but this is just the beginning. Over the next 12 months and beyond, our activities will really ramp up.”

Quickline CEO Sean Royce added: “Investing in education and skills development empowers individuals to thrive in the digital age, driving economic growth and supporting the sustainability and prosperity of rural communities for generations to come. We’re excited to expand our reach in the coming months and years.”
