Project Gigabit is the UK government’s programme helping hard-to-reach communities access lightning-fast, gigabit capable broadband.
The village of Woodsetts in South Yorkshire is one of the places set to benefit from the programme with full fibre due to go live in the village at the end of summer.
We hosted an Ask Our Expert event at The Butcher’s Arms pub in the village and invited along members of the community so they could speak to our team and find out about our work and how Project Gigabit is set to benefit them.

James Knott, Network Supervisor at Quickline, said: “It was fantastic to welcome so many local people to the event and spend some time explaining to them more about full fibre broadband and what it means to them and their online experience.
“The build here is well underway and so we will soon be able to connect our first customers in Woodsetts to gigabit-capable broadband as part of the Project Gigabit programme. The event was a great opportunity for them to speak directly to us and raise any queries or concerns.”
Event manager at Quickline, Sarah Lilleyman-Hall, said: “As we start to light up rural communities through our Project Gigabit contracts, we will be hosting more of these events to help us engage with people and businesses set to be impacted and tell them more about Qucikline, Project Gigabit and what it means to them personally.
“It was brilliant to see such interest from the people of Woodsetts. It demonstrates that there is a real need for an improved service in the village and many like it and Quickline is proud to be delivering gigabit-capable broadband to them.” For news on our up-and-coming information events follow us on social media or keep an eye on our website for news.
