Working alongside Quickline, Ahead Partnership hosted Girl Tech – an exciting careers experience day for more than 100 students aged 12-14 years.

Ahead Partnership is a not-for-profit social impact organisation that works with employers, schools and communities to inspire young people, improve social mobility, and help develop the skills needed for future careers.

The event welcomed students from multiple schools across the region, giving them the chance to get hands-on through interactive workshops as well as to connect with professionals working in the industry.

STEM workshops were delivered to students, allowing them to dive into practical, real-world tech challenges in an engaging, supportive setting.

Meanwhile, students had the opportunity to chat to members of the Quickline team about the roles available in the telecommunications sector – from engineering to customer service and social values – and discover what a career in connectivity could look like for them.

Girl Tech is inspiring the next generation

Annamaria Stewart, Project Manager at Ahead Partnerships, said: “At this year’s Girl Tech Leeds, we had 125 students from 10 Leeds City Region schools, 22 incredible businesses and 70+ inspirational volunteers supporting the day.

“It was amazing to see so many students talking to role models who embody representation, empowerment and the present & future of the tech and digital industry. The day provided a visual reminder to students that there is a place in the industry for them to thrive.”
