Doncaster Primary school gets super fast boost
Toll Bar Primary School (Doncaster) is the first Primary School in the DMBC area to overcome the issues of very slow broadband speeds. This follows the installation of innovative technology which is a point to multipoint wireless link provided by Quickline Communications Limited, based in Hessle, East Yorkshire.
New technology enables Toll Bar Primary School to receive a superfast broadband signal via a small device that is securely fixed to the roof of the school and a mast on the roof of Silverwood House the highest block of flats in Doncaster at 140M. Rather than using a cable into the building like most internet links, Quickline uses wireless technology. The cost of the system is significantly less than quotes from traditional telecoms and this is likely to save the school several thousand pounds a year in internet charges, money savings that can be used elsewhere in the school.
