# How do I set up Talk+ service with my existing internet package?

You just need **your standard home phone** or a **cordless phone base station**.

We’ll send you a **Phone Adapter** in the post. Plug it into your router's 'Phone 1' socket on the back, then connect your phone or base station to the adapter. Quickline Talk+ doesn’t use your old phone sockets, so if you want more than one handset, choose a **cordless multi-handset phone pack.**

You can **keep your current number or choose a new one**. We’ll support you every step of the way.

If you’re keeping your number, we’ll start the transfer after we’ve sent your adapter. The transfer can take up to **28 days** but typically takes around 2 weeks.

**Don’t cancel your current landline until the transfer is complete.** If you do, you will lose your number and we won’t be able to retrieve it.
